Wayne J. Mounsey D.O.B 10/10.1931 (AKA “King Mounsey, Mr. Moose”) Passed in peace with his Family at his side, Tuesday October 22 at 88 years. Preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Mounsey, mother Gertrude Mounsey, father Edgar Mounsey, son Gary, grandson Russell and granddaughter, Shamenn. Loving father of Gerald Mounsey. Proud grandfather of Tiffany, Alex, Alyse, Rachelle, John, Shamenn, Kimberly and Russell. Great-grandfather to many children including Jeffery, Laila, Karter, Bentley, Emerick, Lillian, Willow, Kaine, and Kayla. Wayne will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, distinguished business leader, patriot / veteran of the US Army (Korean War). Wayne enjoyed interaction and good conversation with friends. He traveled the world, was knowledgeable and proud of his hometown Chicago . His passion for learning earned him a business degree from North Central College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School of Management. He was well respected in the food world and by his peers at Keebler. Wayne’s relationships ran deep with Papa Bear, Johnny Morris and Sid Luckman to name a few. He was instrumental in the creation of the Drum and Bugle Corps and was an avid supporter of the Cavaliers. He demonstrated conviction, passion, honor and integrity. He embraced family and loved embellishing just a wee bit. Our Family extends our sincere appreciation to Shelby, who was Wayne’s nurse. Her care and compassion was truly insurmountable. A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the Memorial Service, 11:00 AM at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 East Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca, IL., 60143.
