Biography

Alicia Helen Barnett, nee Romanow, passed away suddenly on July 31st. Beloved daughter of the late Alfred and Pauline, loving sister of Peter (Paula), Katherine (John) Poiron, Daniel, the late Connie Engels, and Joan (James) Berg; dear aunt, great-aunt, godmother and cousin of many; cherished friend of Chris Tempinski and John Barnett. Alicia was a self-taught pianist who loved music, and an accomplished massage therapist. Friends and family have fond memories of her generous spirit and enjoyment of camping and roller skating. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Memorial Visitation will be Friday, August 13th, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Friends and family will meet on Saturday, August 14, 10:00 am for the Celebration of a Memorial Mass at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church, 750 Old Indian Trail, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in Alicia’s honor would be appreciated.
