Biography

Shannon Marie Dalton (Pruyn), age 38; of Bloomingdale, IL, succumbed to Breast Cancer, on July 10, 2018. Shannon was the loving wife of David and devoted mother of her two daughters, Maura Kelley and Kadence Grace. She was the beloved daughter of Darlene and the late Frank Dalton. Dear sister-in-law of Kirstin and Michele Pruyn; treasured daughter-in-law of George & Jill Pruyn; a caring niece to her Aunts Eileen Bobis and Mary P. Lorenz-Smith, Uncle John & Aunt Lisa Lorenz and a cherished cousin of Sheila, Connor & Ella Mulchrone, Lisa & Matthew DeMali, Melissa, Joshua, Rylee & Fiona Mullenix, Ryan, Collin & Blaine Smith, Michael (Nicole) Thomas. Shannon was a 2nd grade teacher at Oakbrook Elementary School in Wood Dale. She loved being a teacher and working with her students. Shannon was extremely creative and enjoyed utilizing her abilities in developing crafts and various learning tools for her students and her own children. She loved birthdays, all holidays and any celebration that provided an opportunity for her to apply her creativity by making her own decorations, clever gifts and party favors. Shannon was a devoted mother to her two daughters and loved actively participating in her eldest daughter’s activities at the Lutheran Church and School of Saint Luke in Itasca and dance team competitions at the Lights, Camera, Dancin’ studio in Roselle. What Shannon enjoyed most was spending time with both immediate and extended family and maintained very close relationships with all of her cousins, aunts and uncles. Shannon was always the first to arrive at family parties and the last to leave. She loved her family more than anything. Visitation Friday, July 13th 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Family and friends will meet Saturday, July 14th at The Lutheran Church of Saint Luke 410 S Rush St, Itasca for a Lying in State 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
