Our hearts are broken at the far too soon loss of our loving, playful, rebellious Mom. We will deeply miss her silliness, her sharp wit and her willingness to say exactly what she is thinking. No one can ever take her place. We love you Mom. Karen Ann (nee Mindak) Edwards, 76, passed away on September 24, 2018. Beloved Wife of Thomas Edwards, Devoted Mother of Aimee Edwards, Jason (Gosia) Edwards, and Allison (Darren) McCarthy; Treasured Grandma to Dayne, Chad, Ashley, Jenna, Owen, Harper, Tony, and Juliette; Dear Daughter of the Late Adele and Frank Mindak; Cherished Sister of James F. (Carolyn Alonzo) Mindak and Susan (Ken) Ellinger; Loving Aunt to Kate Mindak, Kim (Kirk) Paleka, Ed Rinda, Vince (Nicole) Alonzo, Kenny (Julie) Ellinger. Fond cousin to Rick and Maria, Greg and Mary Ellen, Tom and Maryann, Kathi, Sandy (the late Ken), Marty and Doreen, Rick and Michelle, Linda and Bill, Pam and Eric and the late Judy (the late Jon) and all their children. Visitation Friday, September 28th, 3:00-8:00 pm at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca, IL 60143. Family and friends will meet Saturday, September 29th for a Lying in State, 10:00 am until the Celebration of the Mass, 11:00 am at St. Viator Church, 4170 W. Addison St., Chicago, IL 60641.
