Biography

Myriam Delgado Ayala (61), beloved wife of Felix Ayala Jr. for 36 years and mother to Alexander and Gabriela Ayala, passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2024 after a battle with an aggressive form of Metastatic Breast Cancer. Myriam’s first battle with Breast Cancer began in 2007 and regrettably returned in March 2022. Myriam’s strengths can only be described as fearless, courageous, determined, passionate and valiant as she took on multiple forms of treatment. In early June 2024, Myriam was diagnosed with Leptomeningeal Disease, which indicated that her cancer had spread to her cerebral-spinal fluid and ultimately overwhelmed her body. We are proud of her commitment to staying on earth for her family and for her resilience when it came to the daily pains that impacted her body and way of life. We have faith that, through God's grace, she is at rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Myriam was born on December 7th, 1962 to Luis Delgado and Alejandrina Tapia in the state of Guerrero in Mexico. From a young age, Myriam was a selfless, independent, adventurous, and bold woman. After Myriam graduated from high school, she went on to receive her bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Mexico City. In her early 20s she moved to the United States and made her new home in the Chicagoland area where she met and married her husband, Felix. With her attributes of compassion, care, and love, Myriam took the role of an assistant teacher for 27 years at Bensenville School District 2. She worked with students in elementary school and those who required special education. Her dedication to serving her students made a profound effect on their lives and will continue to do so for them and their families. Myriam was predeceased by her sister Paola Delgado Tapia. She is survived by her husband Felix Ayala Jr., son Alexander Ayala, daughter Gabriela Ayala, and family pet, Rocky. She is survived by her brother, Leobardo Delgado Tapia, and sisters Adela Delgado Tapia, María Delgado Tapia, and Elsa Delgado Tapia.
