Biography

Gerald “Jerry” Bolin, age 93 died peacefully on September 18, 2024, in Elk Grove Village, IL. Jerry was born in Chicago, IL, the cherished son of the late Lester Bolin and Leone Millard, and Loving brother of Duane (Mary) Bolin. Jerry was a proud veteran of the US Army Flight Det, with Active Duty in Aurora, CO. where his passion for flight developed piloting helicopters. He enjoyed his occupation as a Pilot for Duchossois Industries, Dr. Scholl, STP (Andy Granatelli and Mario Andretti) and the White Sox to name a few. He was the loving husband for 62 years of the late Arlene "Suzie", whom he met during First Grade in Itasca, IL, and father of Scott (Kim), Brent (Emily), and Lisa (Daniel) Lawler; and devoted grandfather of six. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and animals and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Wednesday September 25, 2024 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Friends and family will meet Thursday, September 26,2024 10:00 am for a funeral service at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights 302 N Dunton Avenue. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery.
