Biography

On July 3, 2019 Shelly started her next great adventure. With her family by her side, she ended her story in this life and started her next. Shelly was born in a time when the world seemed dark and she brought a light into the world for all that knew her. As an avid reader and a lifelong learner; she wrote her own story in this life. Shelly loved adventures, music, and her family. She left behind many to continue their own journeys and live out her legacy including her children; Elizabeth “Kit” Wendt, Daughter-in-law Ana Maldanado-Tate, Walter Carl Henry III (Patti) Wendt, Lane A. (Renée) Wendt, Chandra Wendt-Kruger. Her grandchildren; Josh (Amy) Wendt, David Wendt, Jasmine (Richard) Ballard, Shannon (Kevin) Trader, Christopher (Cole) Sabia, Traci Sabia, Courtney Whitford, Oberon Scheeler, Vincent Kruger, Tatiana Scheeler and Austin “A.J.” Kruger; Great-Grandchildren Shelby, Daniel, Layla, Gracie, Steven, Theodore “Teddy”, and Henry. She is also survived by several adopted children that called her “mom”, as well as 7 siblings and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all loved her dearly. As in any story, there were several in her life who finished their stories before her; including her husband of 40 years, at the time of his passing, Walter Carl Henry Wendt Jr., her children Rose Winsett, Thomas Hoyt Winsett Jr. and Edward “Ty” Winsett, Fender Tate “Joseph Wendt”. Both of her parents, William Travis Nippert and Florence Micheala Nippert, as well as one sister Nathalie Ann “Nan” Nippert. Although she is gone from this world, Shelly’s light will continue to shine through those that loved her and they will carry on with their stories, living out the lessons that she has taught them.
