Biography

Janusz “Jan” Pawlikowski, age 80; of Des Plaines passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 19th , 2016 at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence after a battle with lymphoma cancer. Jan was the oldest son born to Jozef and Aniela (nee Jaskowiec) Pawlikowski in Trzemesnia, Poland. Jan was a tailor by trade in his homeland of Poland. He came to America in 1960 and worked as a machine operator for Eskay for 27 years before retiring. His hobbies included coin and stamp collecting. Jan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edwarda; his daughter, Martha (Leo) Juarez and son, Mark; granddaughters, Jennifer (Alan) Blockhaus and Laura; great-grandchildren, Benton and Danica; brother, Albin Pawlikowski and sister, Marysia Malina and many nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, July 22nd, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Family and friends will meet Saturday, July 23rd, 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Zachary Church 567 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines. Interment Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
