Biography

Selvina B. Lettenberger, née Endries, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side. Armed with her nursing certificate in hand, Sally married the love of her life, had two kids and moved south to Illinois, where she earned her BS in nursing from DePaul University. She went on to serve many patients at various hospitals in the Chicagoland area in her capacity as a labor and delivery nurse and working in the ICU and CCU. She chaired countless blood drives, ran concessions at nearly all her kids‘ sporting events and was an active booster at Driscoll Catholic High School in Addison and parishioner at Holy Ghost Parish in Wood Dale. After retirement, Sally and Del enjoyed snowbirding in Florida, catching as many grandkids’ events as they could, and visiting everyone’s houses to see their Christmas trees. She enjoyed playing cards with her nursing friends, making cards wither neighborhood friends and helping make rounds with the nurses and aides at her senior living center. There wasn’t a grandchild who left her house with socks intact; she could make dinner for her large family out of an onion, a loaf of bread and a moldy chunk of cheese; and we will forever strive to create the perfect Herman recipe in honor of her. She was so very loved by everyone in her life, and will be dearly missed. Sally is preceded in death by her loving husband, Del, and survived by her six children, sons Russell (Erin), Brian (Gloria), Gerard (Cynthia), Kory (Mary), and daughters Lynn (Eric) Tuori and Lisa (Tony) Ciarrachi. She has 12 loving grandchildren and four wonderful great grandchildren.
