Biography

Ellenann Wassinger, age 70, Beloved mother of Carolyn Hoppe (Joseph Garrett) and Matthew Hoppe (Tamara Meier); ​Cherished grandmother of Ryan Hoppe; Dearest sister of Gary (Debbie) Wassinger and Greg Wassinger; Dearest Aunt of Mike (Sarah) Wassinger, Kurt Wassinger; Proud Great-Aunt to eight. Ellenann was a survivor of the Our Lady of the Angel's school fire on December 1, 1958. In her teen years she was a proud member of the Royal Airs Drum & Bugle Corps and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Chicago. Ellenann was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed the summer festivals including King Richard's Faire and Septemberfest. Her favorite Holiday was Christmas and she accumulated a wonderful collection of gorgeous, unique ornaments over the years. Ellenann enjoyed the loving companionship of many cats and dogs over the years dedicating her time to local fostering programs. She will be met at Heavens gate with open loving arms by her Father Carl and Mother Evelyn, what a joyous reunion it will be. A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday 4:00 - 8:00 pm at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park RD (at Prospect) Itasca. Interment private.
