Biography

Karen Lee Race age 73 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family April 19th, 2018. She was the devoted wife for 46 years of the late James Race; loving mother of Eric (Teresa), Kurt (Barb), Kris (Cherisse) and Julie (Chris) Mitchell; beloved daughter of LaVerne and the late Marshall Holt; cherished sister of Marsha (Jerry), Nancy (Paul), Jimmy and Randy (Nancy); Proud Grandma of Rachel, Michael, Paige, Madison, Jesse, Tyler, Sydney, Travis, Breanna, Kyle and Kendall. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. She had a blessed life filled with family, love & laughter. Visitation Tuesday, April 24th, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Family and friends will gather at Zion Lutheran Church 865 S. Church Road, Bensenville on Wednesday, April 25th for a Lying in State, 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service, 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
