Biography

Donna M. Waltrip nee Olson; went to be in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on May 8, 2018. Donna was born in 1932 in Waukegan, Illinois. She grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Bensenville Community High School in 1950. She was a secretary for various companies and was a longtime member of Wood Dale Community Church, serving on many committees, as well as youth leader and Sunday School teacher. Her hobbies included needlepoint, counted cross stitch and various crafts. She was the loving mother of Rhonda Leath, Denise Peters, Vivian Havlik and Deanna (Bernd) Krebs; devoted Grandma of 4 and “GG” of 5; dear sister of Caryl Damiani, E. Harvey (Louise) Olson, Paul (Ingrid) Olson and Fred (Lynn) Olson; loving aunt and great-aunt of many; special sister-in-law of Nicole Korpan; fond cousin and friend of many. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lilah Olson; her brother, Philip; brother-in-law, Art Damiani; son-in-law, Bud Havlik and granddaughter, Elka Krebs. Donna’s family and friends will gather Monday, May 14th, 10:00 a.m. at Wood Dale Community Church 206 N. Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale for a Celebration of her life. Interment will follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery. Donations in Donna’s memory to Wood Dale Community Church or CurePSP.org would be appreciated.
