Biography

David Earl Martin passed peacefully November 13, 2019, holding the hands of his wife, Kristi and niece, Stefanie. David was born in Chicago to the late James and Helen Martin. He was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He later returned to Illinois where he met the love of his life, Kristi. They were lucky enough to have twenty-six years together building a beautiful life. David was an avid sports fan; he especially liked the Bears and Cubs. Although David and Kristi could never agree which was better, the Packers or the Bears, they loved and supported each other every Sunday. David lived his life to the fullest, enjoying simple pleasures like spending time with his family, friends and feline children, Toby, Squeaky, Larry and Lucy. If he wasn’t spending time with his family, you could find him playing horseshoes and bags with his beloved friends. David is survived by his wife, Kristi Martin. He was the cherished brother to Lisa Thomas, Tammy Milner, the late Kathy Dowdle, the late Buddy and Bobby Martin; all of Counce, Tennessee. Devoted Godfather to Justin and Alyssa Stewart. Proud Uncle to Stefanie Stewart and her daughter, Kaylie Strassman aka “Cheese Curd”, Theresa McGuire, Claire Schuller, Leo Schuller, Meline Milner and Marque Martin. He was a fond nephew and cousin to many. David touched a lot of people in his short time in the world. He made many friends who were more like family. He will always be with all of us. You just have to look in your hearts. A Memorial Visitation will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23rd from 3:00-8:00 with a short Memorial Service, 7:00 pm. at The Oak Funeral Home 1201 E.
